Ask Reimi

Terms of use

Who can use Ask Reimi, what to expect from the beta, and how your household's data is handled.

Who can use Ask Reimi

18 or older to start a household. You must be at least 18 years old, and able to agree to these terms where you live, to create an Ask Reimi account that starts a household. When you create one you confirm that you are. We may suspend or remove a household if we learn it was started by someone under 18.

The household owner is responsible. The adult who starts a household is responsible for it and for everyone they add or invite. Children may be part of a household as a profile the owner manages, or with a login the owner invites them to use, under the owner's supervision.

One household per person. Each person may start one household, using one email address. Addresses that reach the same inbox (for example with a +tag, or with dots in a Gmail address) count as the same person. Accounts can't be moved between households.

Using the service

Beta service. Ask Reimi is in public beta. Features change, may be interrupted, and can be added or removed without notice. Keep your own record of anything you can't afford to lose, and use Settings → Your data for a copy of your data.

No warranty. Ask Reimi is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind. Schedules, reminders, travel times, weather, holidays and conflict warnings are estimates generated from the information you enter and from third-party sources, and may be incomplete, delayed or wrong.

Not a safety or emergency service. Do not rely on Ask Reimi for medical, medication, childcare supervision, transport safety or emergency purposes. Always confirm important arrangements directly with the people involved.

Not professional advice. Nothing in the app constitutes legal, medical, financial or educational advice.

Inactive accounts. To keep Ask Reimi tidy we retire accounts that stay signed out for a long time: after 3 months without sign-in we email a reminder, at 6 months the account is paused, at 7 months deactivated, and at 8 months we send a final notice. If nothing changes by 9 months the account and its data are deleted. Before deleting anything yourself, use Settings → Your data to download a copy of your household data.

What we store

Only what you put in: your household name and optional home address, member profiles (name, role, avatar, colour, optional birthday), events, tasks, chores, points and rewards, shopping lists, saved places, calendar feed URLs, and your account email. Ask Reimi does not ask for payment details, phone numbers, government identifiers or precise device location.

Access & security

Every record is tied to your household and protected by database-level access rules, so members of one household cannot read or change another household's data. Sign-in is handled by our authentication provider using email and password or Google sign-in; traffic is served over HTTPS. Invite links let you add people to your household — treat them like a password and only share them with people you trust. Household admins can see everything in the household. A small number of platform operators can access backend systems for support, maintenance and abuse handling.

Third-party services

Some features send limited data to outside providers: your home coordinates go to a weather service and a map/geocoding service for forecasts and drive times, a news service for local headlines, and public-holiday data is generated from your country. Images or PDFs you drop into the AI calendar scan are sent to an AI provider to read the dates out and are not kept afterwards. Anonymous product analytics are collected to see which features are used; you can opt out in Settings → Preferences.

Retention & deletion

Your data is kept for as long as your household exists. Error logs (what failed, when, and for which account) are kept for 72 hours so we can fix problems, then deleted. Deleting an item removes it straight away. Deleting the household in the Danger zone permanently removes every member profile, event, chore, task, list and place — this cannot be undone, and routine backups age out shortly after. Export your data first if you want a copy. The public demo household is sample data only and is reset periodically; anything entered there is not private and may disappear at any time.

Your responsibility

You are responsible for the accuracy of what you enter and for keeping your account credentials and invite links secure. Child profiles are created and controlled by the adult who owns the household, and that adult is responsible for obtaining any consent needed before entering another person's details. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss arising from missed events, incorrect reminders, service interruption or lost data.
